Philly Eats - Part 2

No trip to Philly is complete without the obligatory Philadelphia Cheesesteak. With so many places offering the eponymous sandwich, I found it hard to decide where to try the ultimate cheesesteak experience. we plumped for Sonny's Famous Steaks.

  

It was pretty quiet but that didn't deter us. We knew what we wanted so we went and ordered one Philly Cheesesteak with Whizz cheese. Service was quick and friendly, and our sandwich was served up hot and promptly.

One bite into the sandwich and confirmed pretty much what I had expected. You don't order a cheesesteak and expect a culinary explosion or a healthy dinner option. You get what you pay for and it's all good. The steak was tender and juicy, and despite not being a huge fan of fried onions and fake cheese, the flavours really did complement each other. Upon returning to the hotel, we were told that Jim's is the place to go in Philly for an authentic cheesesteak but from my personal experience, you can't go wrong at Sonny's!
